The Department for Educatation and Skills has developed a self evaluation tool for citizenship. The self-evaluation process enables school leaders and co-ordinators to chart progress systematically in developing citizenship education in their own school. This tool helps school leaders to take a more holisitic approach to citizenship education which links the components of; citizenship in the curriculum, citizenship in the school community and citizenship in the wider community beyond school.
